Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of your agreement with Prufer LLC and supplements our Terms of Service.

1. Purpose

This AUP defines the acceptable and prohibited uses of the Prufer platform, including but not limited to the enforcement engine, policy templates, governance API, AI agent certification, and all associated features. Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your account.

2. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

  • Facilitate, conceal, or enable harmful, illegal, or deceptive AI agent behavior.
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with plan limits, rate limits, or security controls.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract proprietary algorithms, models, or code from the Service.
  • Share, sell, or transfer API keys, account credentials, or access tokens to unauthorized parties.
  • Use the Service in a manner that degrades performance, availability, or security for other users.
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information for AI agent certification or governance reviews.
  • Use certifications, governance reports, or compliance dashboards to misrepresent your organization's compliance posture.
  • Scrape, crawl, or programmatically extract data from the Service except through authorized API endpoints.
  • Use the Service to store, process, or transmit content that violates applicable law or third-party rights.
  • Use the Service for competitive intelligence, benchmarking, or to build a competing product.

3. Policy Template & Rule Configuration

Prufer provides policy templates and rule presets as starting points for governance configuration. The following obligations apply to your use of templates and rules:

  • Review before deployment: You must review and validate all policy templates, rules, and thresholds before deploying them in production. Templates are general-purpose and may require customization for your specific industry, jurisdiction, or organizational requirements.
  • Not legal advice: Policy templates do not constitute legal, regulatory, or compliance advice. Consult qualified legal counsel for compliance guidance.
  • Configuration responsibility: You are solely responsible for the rules, thresholds, and enforcement actions configured in your fleet. Prufer is not liable for outcomes resulting from misconfigured or inappropriate rules.
  • Ongoing maintenance: You are responsible for keeping your rules and policies updated as regulations, standards, and organizational requirements evolve.

4. API & SDK Usage

  • Respect published rate limits for your plan tier. Do not attempt to circumvent rate limiting.
  • Do not use the API to send malicious payloads, exploit vulnerabilities, or conduct security testing without prior written authorization.
  • Rotate API keys immediately if you suspect they have been compromised.
  • Do not redistribute, resell, or sublicense API access.

5. Certification Integrity

If you use Prufer's AI agent certification service:

  • All information submitted for certification must be accurate and complete.
  • You may not misrepresent certification results to third parties, investors, customers, or regulators.
  • Certifications are valid only for the specific agent version and configuration evaluated. Material changes to a certified agent may invalidate the certification.
  • Prufer reserves the right to revoke certifications if fraud, misrepresentation, or material changes are discovered.

6. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to [email protected].

7. Enforcement

Prufer reserves the right to investigate potential violations of this AUP and take appropriate action, including but not limited to issuing warnings, temporarily suspending access, permanently terminating accounts, and reporting illegal activity to law enforcement. We will endeavor to provide notice before taking action, but may act immediately if we reasonably believe the violation poses a threat to the Service, other users, or public safety.
